Here’s how I saved my client $400
I recently had a situation where a client found a Mexican vacation through Costco, but want to give me an opportunity to win her business. And let’s face it, many people believe that purchasing their vacations through a superstore like Costco will be less expensive than working with a travel agent, but that’s not always true. I was able to work with my vendors who are committed to price match, and they actually came in $400 less than the Costco price. I was also able to get the same $1500 resort credit. The only thing I couldn’t match was the $300 Costco gift card. That was solved by simply saving her $400 on the actual vacation. But price is only one aspect of the equation. As a travel agent, I not only do all of the work for you, I also look out for your best interests. I’m here if something goes awry with your hotel room or your flights. I even helped a client who left their iPad in the charging station at the airport gate. I call ahead to the hotels and rental car desks to ensure everything goes well with your reservation. Basically, I have your back and am looking out for your best interests. The people at Costco won’t do any of that. What’s more, if I couldn’t find the same or better deal than Costco, I would say so. We all understand the importance of saving money. So how do I get paid? I receive a commission for the vendor. You don't actually pay anything for my services. Costco just makes more money on the sale when you book it yourself. So next time you’re planning a trip, give me a call. You have everything to gain. Kim Share the knowledge
