To mark the occasion, there will be plenty of special celebrations taking place across the country. We’ve compiled a list of the best reasons to visit Canada in this special anniversary year: Banff National Park Whether you relax by Lake Moraine, grab a bite to eat at one of the historical teahouses, or head out on a hike to the forest that’s crowned by the Victoria glacier, a trip to this stuffing region is one if the best reasons to visit Canada. Quebec City Set atop the cliffs at a narrowing of the St. Lawrence River, Quebec’s Old Town is rich in charm and stuffed with places to see. Visit the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham (where the Brits to the city from the French), the National Assembly. But whatever you do, make sure to leave time for the Basilica. It also has some of the best eating around. (Just ask Anthony Bourdain) Belize
This English-speaking country is every diver or snorkeler’s dream. Situated on the white-sand Caribbean, Belize is home to the world’s second largest coral reef. The water is warm, the people are amazingly friendly and the BBQ’d lobster is mouth-watering. It’s a compact country, occupying about 9,000 square miles. But don't let its size throw you off. Swimmers, snorkelers and scuba divers will discover paradisiacal spots along the barrier reef like Hol Chan Marine Reserve and the Great Blue Hole. Wildlife-seekers will marvel at Belize's magnificent jaguars, pumas, howler monkeys, parakeets and keel-billed toucans at the Belize Zoo. And culture hounds will reach new heights exploring impressive Mayan archeological sites like Corozal, Altun Ha and Lamanai. With so much to do, it can be difficult to decide where to begin in Belize. But the logical first step is to grab your bathing suit and just jump in.
